For many years CMS Cameron McKenna LLP has been at the forefront of assisting financial services professionals and their insurers with professional negligence claims and contentious regulatory issues. We have extensive experience in acting for financial services advisers, pension trustees, actuaries, accountants, insurers, banks and other financial institutions. Our expertise in these areas is based in both Bristol, with a team of 21 lawyers in the insurance team, and London.

As well as acting for a great many pension schemes, we act for the majority of the largest PTL insurers. We also acted on the very first reported actuaries’ professional negligence claim (Nederlandse Reassurantie Groep Holding NV v Bacon & Woodrow (1997)) and the Court of Appeal case Andrews v Barnett Waddingham LLP (2006) – two of the very few reported cases on actuaries’ negligence.
